Membership Categories
Membership of the Council of Measurement and Verification Professionals of South Africa (CMVPSA) is open to persons in the Measurement and Verification (M&V) industry that qualify according to the By-laws of the CMVPSA at the time of application. All categories of members may only offer professional M&V services to the public for which they are qualified.
STUDENT ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
Students studying at a Tertiary Institution may apply to the Council to become Student Associate Members. To apply:
- Download the Student Associate Membership application form, complete and return to info@cmvpsa.org.za.
- Submit proof of registration with the Tertiary Institution. Re-submission of proof of registration will be required for each year of Student Associate Membership.
- Student Associate Membership is a Free membership category.
ASSOCIATE MEMBERS
The Associate Membership category is open to individuals whom wish to participate in the M&V industry, or learn more about the field of M&V. To apply:
FULL MEMBERSHIP (Registered Membership)
Members in the Full Membership category are referred to as Registered M&V Professionals with the CMVPSA. It is important to note that only persons registered as M&V Professionals with the CMVPSA can become Full Members.
Full Membership and Provisional Membership requires the individual to be a CMVP according to the certification process administered by the Efficiency Valuation Organisation (EVO) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), in addition to completing and passing the Fundamentals of M&V in South Africa course. Experiential requirements in M&V are evaluated by the CMVPSA Registration committee, in conjunction with the training pre-requisites, prior to Registration as an M&V Professional with the CMVPSA. Registration is renewable on an annual basis.

Full Membership/Provisional Membership evaluation and application fee is R 2,750-00, plus an annual fee of R 2,500-00. Should the Associate Member route be followed initially, only the difference of R 1,500-00 in the annual fee is payable, once Full Membership is granted.
All membership categories are required to conform to the objectives, abide by the Constitution and adhere to the Code of Conduct and the By-laws, as set out in the Governance Handbook.
