How to become a member of CMVPSA

  • Student
  • Students studying at a tertiary institution may apply to the Council to become Student Associate Members

    • Free membership;
    • Proof of registration with university necessary annually
    • Complete the form and send to info@cmvpsa.org.za

  • Associate membership
  • Anyone who are interested or want to learn more about the field of M&V can become an associate member.

  • Full membership
  • Implies that you are registered as an M&V professional with the CMVPSA. Important to note that only people who are registered as M&V professionals with the CMVPSA can become full members.

    • Requirements
      • Training requirements:
        • CMVP course
          • Attend CMVP Course, or equivalent course approved by CMVPSA;
          • Pass exam and professional evaluation process;
          • For more information on the courses available send your information to info@cmvpsa.org.za
        • Course on the Fundamentals of Energy Metering, Data Handling, Legislation and Policies in the SA content and relevancy
          • Attend course approved by CMVPSA
          • Pass exam
          • For more information on the courses available send your information to info@cmvpsa.org.za
      • Experience
        • Send a profile of your M&V experience to info@cmvpsa.org.za where the Registration committee will evaluate your practical experience in M&V.
        • When your profile is received the following will be sent to you:
          • Application for registration of M&V professional/ Full member form, need to complete and return;
          • Invoice for the application fee of R 2 750 (for evaluation of experience);
          • Code of Conduct, need to sign Code of Conduct and return.
        • If successful:
          • Registered as Full Member with CMVPSA;
          • Full membership R 2 500/year (If full membership is received after associate membership fee has been paid, only need to pay the difference (R 1 500));
          • Published on website.
    • Application for Provisional registration (Only valid until end of 1st course on Fundamentals of Energy Metering, Data Handling, Legislation and Policies in the SA content and relevancy).
    • If you are already a CMVP (registered with EVO) you can apply for provisional registration.

      • Requirements
        • Training requirements:
          • Be a Certified Measurement and Verification Professional (CMVP) according to the certification process administered by the Efficiency Valuation Organization (EVO) and the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE).
        • Experience:
          • Send a profile of your M&V experience to info@cmvpsa.org.za where the Registration committee will evaluate your practical experience in M&V.
        • When your profile is received the following will be sent to you:
          • Application for registration of M&V professional/ Full member form, need to complete and return;

        • If successful
          • Provisionally registered as M&V professional with CMVPSA;
